Unboxing was pleasant. We'll packed. Quality build quality.. Set up was simple. Set clean. Heats up and cleans the machine. Weigh up some beans. For however many cups you want. I used the preset for the first cup. Weigh the beans. Grinder is quick and quiet. I used the included paper filter. Dumped beans in hit brew..
Simple unit Heats up probably 2 minutes. Before you know it... You got a cup. Wonderful. Adding a custom recipe is super easy. I used the presets for some winning brews. Easy to follow.. Bright display. Remember to get something to catch the grounds from the grinder. Great product
Before Gevi, I made the mistake of being fooled by the promise of a “good”, cheap espresso machine on Amazon. After a month, I got sick and tired of a machine that couldn’t produce proper espresso. I needed something that had good pressure I could visually record, and that could get hot enough to produce crema from a lighter espresso roast. I also did not want to purchase an over-hyped Breville that would likely break—waste of money!
After doing some research, I saw how many people loved their Gevi and compared it to higher-priced brands. So, I decided on this little wonder right here. I’m so glad I did!
First, the quality and care put into this machine overall is fantastic. Not only does it look absolutely beautiful, but it’s nice and heavy! All of the parts have a quality feel. Even with the tamper; I wasn’t expecting something so heavy and well-made, but it is. Definitely beats the one I previously paid $30 for elsewhere.
Now, for the operation: I’m really impressed! It can be more difficult to get a decent crema out of a medium-(vs dark, i.e. Lavazza Super Crema) roast bean - I like to use beans from Partners coffee roasters. However, after maybe 4-5 times of experimenting with both grind size and amount of coffee - much less trial and error than on my old machine - I was able to produce a gorgeous crema and perfect puck! Further, the steaming wand’s performance is just as wonderful. While I was worried at first, I was able to get perfect milk texture on the first try. I’m beyond thrilled with my purchase.
For reference: I have barista training on a La Marzocco machine. I know what a good espresso/latte/etc. should look like, and I’m beyond happy to have found something much more affordable and smaller for home use. Once you get familiar with the machine, the quality is indistinguishable! Thank you, Gevi!
LOVE this espresso machine and use it way more than I thought I would. So overall, a great investment and looks so modern on my coffee bar. From the first shot I pulled, I knew this was on a whole different level than the cheaper machines I've tried in the past at my friend's houses. The dual display makes it so easy to see pressure, time, and temp all at once, and the 58mm portafilter really does make a huge difference in flavor. The espresso comes out rich, smooth, and with that gorgeous crema that makes you feel like you've got your own little cafe at home.
Pros so far:
- consistent shots with beautiful crema/espresso
- powerful steam wand
- sleek build that feels professional
- easy to use even for beginners
- very sturdy and heavy (feels like a real barista machine)
- heats up quickly
- looks gorgeous on the counter.
Cons:
- The manual doesn't include recipes for drinks (lattes, cappuccinos, etc.) so I've been watching online videos.
- it's on the heavier side, so not easy to move once set up
- takes a little (let's be honest, a lot!) practice to get milk frothing just right
- it's not the cheapest machine, but the quality makes it worth it.
The steam wand is powerful but easy to use, and it's been so much fun learning how to froth milk properly. The best part? My kids are now learning how to make me lattes foam art and all! It's basically turned into a family activity, which I wasn't expecting but absolutely love.
Build quality is rock solid, this thing is heavy, sleek, and just plain beautiful sitting on the counter. It looks like it belongs in a high-end coffee shop, but it's actually very approachable, even for beginners.
If you've been on the fence about getting a machine like this, do it. It's worth every penny, and you'll wonder why you didn't upgrade sooner.
Alright this espresso machine is pretty darn good overall. Especially for the price. The feature set on this and the end result is a fairly good cup of espresso if you're using fresh beans and a have a decent grinder.
This has PID control, 58mm porta filter, 3-hole steam wand, and a fairly quick boiler. The controls are digital and there are no physical buttons, which works well with clean hands but does get a bit finger printy. The unit is made of a mix of glass, metal, plastic. The size of this coffee unit has a compact footprint and can fit on small counters, but you also will need to account for your grinder. This does NOT have a grinder.
The coffee itself is good with a hot temperature and I was able to pull decent shots without having to 0 in too much, sorta just giving the machine a go with how I normally do things.
Overall, this is a good unit for under $300 that is a full 58mm porta filter, allowing for more coffee per shot. Easy to clean and use overall, some practice will be needed.
**Background:** I'm really into her espresso obsession, which has lasted for just under a year; this is my third machine. I started with a budget 51 mm machine and quickly upgraded to a Breville 54 mm infuser. I've always been curious about a 58 mm machine, which is why I ordered this one. **Build Quality:** This machine feels very heavy as soon as the box arrives. I could tell it was a sturdy machine with all-metal construction. It looks stunning, with lots of polished metal, making it very attractive. The included portafilter is also quite hefty. It comes with two baskets that are not pressurized, and I hope to get a bottomless portafilter to enjoy the process more. **Function:** Wow, this machine is far better than my Breville. You can control the temperatures, which is especially helpful when brewing lighter roasts. Whatever pressure mechanism this uses, it produces a really good cup with less effort than I'm used to. I also like the steam wand, the two power levels, and the pull-down handle. It does take a little longer to switch between brewing and steaming, and if you push the buttons impatiently, you get an error code, but you get used to it quickly. I really appreciate the integrated timer; it works both for drawing a shot and for steaming. The only downside is that you don't have full control over the brewing process. I like to manage my pre-infusion, but with this machine-or at least I don't think you can-it's not possible. However, you can adjust the length or volume and stop the process mid-brew once you reach your target volume or time. Still, it doesn't offer as much control as the Breville, where you can adjust the infusion process and extend the pressured draw period on the fly. I don't know if it's the tapered basket, but I've brewed some challenging beans-really light roasts-and I find this machine much easier to dial in, yielding a more balanced shot compared to my Breville. I don't know if it's the larger diameter, but whatever it is, this is a good machine. For people seeking complete control, maybe not, but if you're into high-end brewing, this machine is pretty fantastic and makes the process great. Shots of espresso and steamed milk come out really well. I think this is an incredible value, regardless of the chips, sensors, and pressure features inside. This machine makes a pretty amazing shot of espresso, even a novice can operate. And you're not even cheating using a pressurized basket. It's a true and pressurized basket, and whatever system they have in here is tuned really well. In conclusion, I'm not experienced enough to explain why this machine works so well. I can only say that it pulls really good shots without cheating and using a pressurized basket. I wish I had bought this first and then spent more time with it, but I'm pretty sure I'm going to sell my Breville (yes, it's that much easier to dial in and actually taste better). I love my Breville machine, but I often get frustrated, particularly when I try to integrate something new, either a newer filter or a new roast, or a new grinder. I've spent significantly less time with this machine, but it just seems smarter and able to adapt to whatever I'm experimenting with.
I've had this for about 6 months now and it makes great choice every single time. It checks all the boxes. It's easy to use, versatile, robust, and relatively inexpensive. 100% recommend
Gevi has created a magnificent machinery that brewed the perfect espresso. Just writing this my senses are visiting ,the oh so welcoming aroma of the espresso I had this morning. The smell just captures you it's an intense, rich fragrant with hints of the beans origin. The machine is easy to use, the instructions are included and help in learning. You can choose between one espresso or making two. The multi functional choice is wonderful. I a make myself a cappuccino with two shots of espresso. The sound of the machine being brewing is welcomed. Even when I am frothing my milk. The wand to the frothier is so easy to clean and wipe after use. It's like I'm a certified barista. This machine is magical! My tastebuds never had better espresso, perfect temperature, the golden brown creama. I love how aesthetically beautiful the machine is as well the white and chrome are flawless in design. With a touch of the keypad in seconds I'm ready to experiment espresso at its perfect balanced taste, balanced between sweetness, bitterness . It's not dry or overpowering acidity. It's not good espresso, it's great espresso. One that needs no sugar. The flow of the espresso into your cup looks like molten chocolate, smooth, rich and the perfect creama. This machine is worth it's value. Every detail makes it so easy to enhance and get the best espresso. I enjoy coffee, but now I'm truly appreciate quality and taste. The other day I wasn't home all day and stopped at a local coffee shop and I couldn't bring myself to finish the cup I ordered and wasted my money on. Knowing what I had at home has stopped me from buying out. It a luxury you didn't know you needed, till you tasted it. I love this machine, Gevi is exceptional in quality.
I got into espresso during COVID and currently have a Gaggia Classic Pro that has been modified to be perfect for my needs. I added a 9 bar spring, changed out the thermostat, and a few other items to help me achieve the a repeatable, delicious cup of espresso.
I have looked into adding PID, but not looking forward to a project like reworking the electrical. That is where this machine really shines.
It comes out of the box with a few PID settings, 9 bar spring for the espresso and it looks so clean and modern. That is something that the Gaggia can't compete with.
This machine is what I wish I would have bought when I was looking. It has most of the things that I was looking for. Setting it up could not have been easier, clean it out, plug it in, add water, add a single or double basket and you are pretty much ready to start making espresso drinks . This is a very capable machine.
It includes most of the tools that you will need. The only thing that you will need to add is a grinder to get your grounds fine enough for espresso. You can go down the rabbit hole of getting all the little bits and bobs that exist in the espresso world, but honestly immist of it is a waste of money.
It will take a bit to dial it on, but the buttons are very clear, the readout on the front is way to work with and it is very well thought out. The water capacity is a sizeable 2.3 liters which means that you can go quite a while between fill ups.
Overall if you are looking for an intro machine for espresso, this is a very good option. It has many of the extras you would have to pay much more for.
If you want a machine that looks great on the counter, can make decent espresso and won't break the bank, this should be high on your list. The next level up is easily double the price of this machine.
This is a beautiful machine,it reminds me of apple products for some reason and it's heavy, it weights about 30lbs and it's made of metal, for reference,I have a ascaso steel duo and lelit mara x and gaggia classic pro e24.
This machine has features only found in high-end machines that cost triple of this.
This is a great value, wish gevi would come out with new colors ,I don't mind having a black one as well.
First let me say this is a visually stunning machine. It definitely will be noticed. Which is nice but you can't drink beauty. It came well packaged (possibly overpackaged) and was easy to setup. The machine has a solid feel and appears to be well made. All of the included items are good quality. I packed and pulled a dozen shots (all doubles because why would anyone ever make a single?). Most of the shots turned out well and there is definitely a learning curve. It likes a very fine powder and is the first machine I've owned that seems to work better without a puck screen. Although I like the way they keep the machine clean so I'll keep trying. You'll probably want to use a scale to find the sweet spot on this machine. It is certainly well above an entry level machine, but I'd wait for a discount. Either way you won't be disappointed with the quality of the machine or the espresso.
Starbucks who? For my Airbnb I wanted to offer a really nice coffee experience for my guests beyond just a regular coffee pot. I have a Breville Barista Touch at home which I love but I wasn't about to put a machine that expensive in a rental. I found this one and it has been absolutely amazing. The quality is honestly stunning it looks and feels so high end, especially in the white color. It's just as powerful as my Breville and makes an incredible espresso with great crema but it's literally a quarter of the price. Now it doesn't have all the fancy bells and whistles like a built in grinder or automatic milk frothing but it does what it's supposed to do and it does it exceptionally well. It's a bit of a learning curve so Im going to make an instruction video for my guests. The only thing to note is that it uses a 58mm portafilter which is what the pros use and my Breville uses a 54mm so none of my accessories are compatible but that's a small price to pay. My guests are going to love this, now I just need to get a good grinder and they'll be making coffee like a pro barista.
Espresso it made was delicious!
I love this espresso machine and here's why!
1. Delicious espresso at the right temperature!
2. Everything is durable stainless steel!!!!! They did not skimp on build quality anywhere!
3. Included tools give you what you need for a single or double shot and frothed milk. All accessories a heavy duty stainless and durable. Missing the 2 red accessories though.
4. When loading the portafilter use the tamper to regulate level because if you overfill it will not close upon inserting it. I love the 1 or 2 shot capability!
5. Simple and easy to use. Turn on, wait a minute for warm up. Insert portafilter. Select your one or 2 shots and watch it brew. Wait a minute, select steam option, let it warm up, froth your milk. Easy!!!! Functions great!
6. This is a 58mm commercial grade portafilter so you maximize flavor!
7. You can control the temperature with 3 options!
8. I also love that the profile of the machine is compact. It is not a huge giant hard to handle machine. I can easily lift and move it. And the water tank is easily removeable and large too!
Delicious and a great value!!!!
You get what you pay for. Honestly not bad ! Very easy to use, my coffee taste really good!
This makes a great latte everytime.
UPDATE 8/21/2025
I found the missing brush and needle thanks to another reviewer. It was behind the drip tray. I continue to use this machine every day and it makes amazing espresso. The key is to use exactly 19g for a double shot to get the right amount of pressure. Still love this machine!
I've been testing this Gevi espresso machine for the past few days and overall I'm impressed. It looks and feels like a premium product. The all-metal construction with a matte white finish gives it a clean, modern look that fits nicely in my kitchen.
The included accessories are a definite highlight. The tamper is solid metal with a nice weight to it, much better than the lightweight plastic ones that often come with machines in this range. The stainless steel milk frothing pitcher is also a nice touch, and the filter baskets feel heavy and well made.
Performance has been solid. I've run both single and double shots and was happy with the results. The crema was good and the flavor was smooth. The pressure gauge is useful during extraction and the machine heats up quickly.
The steam wand takes a little practice. My first attempt didn't get the milk hot enough, which cooled down the coffee more than I'd like. With a bit of technique, it works well, but there is a learning curve. The cleaning process also follows a specific sequence that I haven't quite memorized yet, so I'm still referring to the manual after each use.
A few accessories mentioned in the manual were missing from the box, including the cleaning brush and the cleaning needle. It's a small issue, but at this price I expected a complete kit.
There are also a couple of features that are commonly found in other machines in this price range that are not included here. There is no integrated grinder, which some similarly priced models offer, and no dual boiler or dedicated heating system for simultaneous brewing and steaming. If you're making multiple drinks in a row, that could slow things down.
If I had personally budgeted five hundred dollars for an espresso machine, I might have considered other models that include more features or convenience. That said, for what it does offer - solid build quality, excellent accessories, and a clean modern design - this is still a strong choice, especially if you already have a grinder and don't mind waiting a bit between brewing and steaming.
